Product Care

Caring for your new furntiure.

Care + Maintenance

Caring for your new furniture is relatively simple.  Treat it with respect and it will continue to provide for you.  Use common sense when moving and handling it, taking care not to catch or clip exposed parts, such as table legs.  The glued mortise + tenon joinery is incredibly strong, however repeatedly stressing joints in such an unnecessary manner will lead to joint failure over time.

Cleaning your Furniture

The main component of your furniture which warrants your attention is the finish.  The finish is a thin film of acrylic lacquer, and it is the only barrier between the wood fibers of the table and moisture in the air.  Everything has a moisture content, including the wood finish itself, so clean up excess moisture + spills immediately.  Excess moisture on the surface can be absorbed into the finish.  While this does not necessarily mean the finish will be ruined, over time it can potentially shorten the lifespan.

Our finishes utilize advanced polymer resins and HAPS-Free solvent technologies to protect your furniture from a wide range of chemicals.  Extremely acidic liquids, however, and strong chemical solvents, such as acetone and lacquer thinner, pose a significant threat of the well being of the finish.

Clean your furniture with soap + water to maintain the longest possible lifespan of the finish.  For more persistent surface cleaning issues, use a solid-surface cleaner, such as windex.  Used properly, these cleaners pose a minimal threat to the finish. Issues arise when puddles are left on the surface. Do not use petroleum based cleaners on our products.
